Free energy and water saving service

picture-8.pngLocal households and businesses in the Newcastle and Hunter region are invited to take advantage of the latest TogetherTODAY initiative, an easy and free service for reducing energy and water costs while helping the environment.

The Enviro Saver Program is a one-stop point of call delivered by Fieldforce Services Pty Ltd. Following the recent opening of a new office and call centre in Morisset, the Enviro Saver Energy Assessors have been flooded with requests to install free energy and water saving showerheads and energy- efficient light globes.

City Energy and Resource Manager PETER DORMAND says the Enviro Saver Program is the second TogetherTODAY initiative to be announced following the launch of ClimateCam for Schools in July this year.

“TogetherTODAY aims to establish the Hunter as the most energy and water efficient region in Australia and the Enviro Saver Program is a practical way homes and businesses can get involved and save money at the same time.”“ClimateCam will help us track the Enviro Saver installations and greenhouse gas savings for Newcastle and the Hunter region. In the next month we will be able to measure and report installations across Newcastle’s 15 ClimateCam zones.

Managing Director of Fieldforce Services, CRAIG BATHIE says they have been in the region since April and have installed the free showerheads and light globes in over 1300 Newcastle homes and a total of over 5000 Hunter homes.

“This is great news because it is a total reduction of 5000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year and the showerhead alone can save these households up to $100 a year.”

Fieldforce Services and the Enviro Saver Program demonstrate what the TogetherTODAY initiative is all about.

The Enviro Saver Program builds on the success of the four year Community REFIT program, a join initiative of Newcastle City Council, EnergyAustralia, Hunter Water and Lower Hunter Councils.
