On Saturday November 22 over 800 residents came through the gates of Newcastle City Council’s Turton Road Depot between 9am and 3:30pm for the annual Chemical Cleanout event. This year 35 tones of household chemical waste including batteries, gas bottles, cleaning products and paint were collected (8 tones more than last year) for recycling and safe environmental disposal.
