Earth Hour Hunter 2010
8.30pm, Saturday 27 March, 2010
Earth Hour is fast approaching and Hunter residents are asked to take up the challenge and make Earth Hour, every hour. This doesn't mean living in the dark for the rest of your life but it does mean doing something to care for the environment at work or at home all year round.
Last year Hunter participants helped to save 42.42 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions or the equivalent of switching off more than 3.3million energy smart light globes.
For the third year in a row Together Today is partnering with local businesses and schools to raise awareness about the global initiative and we ask people to join in and to turn off lights and any non-essential electrical appliances between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 27 March, 2010.
Earth Hour, Every Hour
It is one thing to switch off your lights and non-essential electrical appliances for 60 minutes during Earth Hour but what about the rest of the year? We believe there are plenty of simple and practical things you can do around the home to make it earth hour, every hour. Our website has lots of tips for your living area, kitchen, laundry, bedroom, bathroom and yard. We encourage you to some time now to check out the changes you can make to help the environment and even save yourself some money.
